Стаття присвячена аналізу ключових теоретико-методологічних підходів до вивчення міста в західній соціології другої половини ХХ століття. Виокремлено внесок науковців у розуміння ролі політичної влади, економічних інститутів, культурних чинників та мікросоціальних практик у формуванні міського простору. Особливу увагу зосереджено на урбаністичних студіях, що розглядають повоєнну відбудову, субурбанізацію, джентрифікацію та «право на місто» крізь призму соціальної справедливості й інклюзивного планування. Окреслено перспективи застосування західних урбаністичних теорій у розробленні моделей відбудови та розбудови міст сучасної України, які б поєднували інноваційні рішення з принципами соціальної відповідальності та залучення громадян.
