THE AMERICAN COMMUNIST PARTY AND FEMINISM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COLD WAR (1945-1960)

Ця публікація пропонує до розгляду американський марксистсько-феміністський активізм періоду початку Холодної Війни в контексті його зв’язку з Американською Комуністичною Партією. Сучасні представники критичної теорії стурбовані тим, що світовий прогрес, досягнутий в області гендерної рівності в XX сторіччі, не призвів до аналогічних досягнень в області економічної рівності. Ті, хто шукає історичні корені цього феномену, іноді звинувачують американський фемінізм 1960-х і 1970-х років в тому, що він не заперечував ключові капіталістичні інститути. Цей огляд пропонує розширити наукову дискусію про роботу в області жіночих прав в США в перші роки Холодної Війни, звертаючи увагу на те, що Американська Комуністична Партія поділяла позицію Радянського Союзу щодо «жіночого питання». Ґрунтуючись на свідченнях американських марксистських феміністок і з огляду на позицію американського уряду часів Холодної Війни, стає очевидно, що помилки Американської Комуністичної Партії в галузі боротьби за жіночі права, яких припустилися на початку Холодної Війни, у поєднанні з політикою Маккартизму, призвели до того, що фемінізм «другої хвилі», використовуючи революційну риторику, досяг, загалом, «буржуазних» цілей.Посилання
